The Irate Black Man (real name: DeNardo Monroe) is a victim who originated from a Joe Pesci prank call^[1] and ranks as one of the most-intimidating and violent prank victims ever as well as one of the most-popular victim soundboards. He has become renowned for his aggressive and violent behavior, with an explosive temper and usually responds to prank calls by repeatedly making incredibly violent threats (including death threats and sexual assault threats) which are heavily-laced with ebonics, ghetto jargon, sexual intimidation, and other profanities (for example, he would mention something such as "put a bullet in yo' ass"). His most-popular catchphrase is "meet me somewhere", which the Irate Black Man frequently utters when he is called at least twice or thrice by the same person. He has appeared in ten calls by pranksters to date.

BackgroundEdit

Little is known about this victim, except that he claims his name is DeNardo Monroe (as heard in this Joe Pesci prank call) and lives in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Although not confirmed in his calls, he has a brother named Joe and is married. He and his wife have at least one son who is studying at a university. His mother made a brief appearance when the Gay Florist called their home. He claims that his whole family is on the police force and appears to be a dangerous man and, ironically, (considering his family's supposed law-enforcement background) is also a possible gang member, having referred to himself as a "gangsta" in at least one call. The Irate Black Man also seems to be a Christian (in the Arnold Schwarzenegger prank call, he described his home as a "house of Christ").

When called, the Irate Black Man always initiates by asking "hello" and states "who's speaking?" when questioning the caller while often repeating this question numerously after which he quickly becomes violent and aggressive as his temper flares. As the call progresses, he becomes even angrier and more violent, especially if called for a second or third time, and always challenges the caller to "meet him somewhere" (which has been his popular catchphrase), all the while claiming that he will "put a bullet in yo' ass," or "smoke you" if he/she calls his "crib" again. So far, he has neither deduced that he is speaking to soundboards nor has he recognized his own voice on the occasions when it has been used to call him.

The Irate Black Man also has a high affinity for insulting or threatening the welfare of the parent of the caller, as well as targeting him/her for sexual assault. For example, he once stated, "Your momma's a bitch and I'm gonna fuck your momma tonight too."

He is also very proud of his African-American heritage and seems to harbor some anti-Semitic sentiment as well, taking particular offense if called a "White Boy" or "Jew". Despite sounding tough and threatening, he sounded quite defeated in his latest call with Rick The Mullet Man, even when Chinaman appeared after Rick the Mullet Man. In a very brief manner, the Irate Black Man tiredly stated "Here the Dicksucka go again, I'm out".

The Irate Black Man may have also been consuming drugs. When Rick the Mullet Man called him, he said, "I'm gonna smoke this blunt cuz you're full of shit", while he stated in the Arnold Schwarzenegger prank call that there was no drug dealer in his house.

DepictionEdit

Americanlackey, a YouTube account user, has used various black males to depict Monroe in the original calls, including actor Ving Rhames as he appears in Pulp Fiction, Isaac Hayes, Jamie Foxx, as well as many others. The image that would result in the iconic depiction of the Irate Black Man is that of a gritty-looking Rhames in a ski cap and gray trenchcoat as Luther Stickell in Mission: Impossible III. It is this image that Americanlackey used for the final prank calls he made and the image that TheGoldenPhone would repeatedly flip forward and backwards in the famous rage-filled Irate Black Man Calls Himself. The Irate Black Man has also been depicted as Jules in Pulp Fiction (played by Samuel L. Jackson) in at least two of his prank calls on YouTube, which are to the Crazy Weird Black Guy and the Entertainment Company as well as the late actor Bernie Mac in the video for the whiteboy prank call and Bushwick Bill of the rap group Geto Boys in the video for the call to Miami.

Pranking historyEdit

To date, he has been pranked by the soundboards of Joe Pesci, the Black Guy, Gay Florist, Satanic Racist, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Al Pacino, Duncan and even himself. After videos surfaced providing evidence that he changed his phone number, he was located again about six months later and pranked by Rick the Mullet Man, and Chinaman for a very short time. As of 2013, he has not been prank called again.

ConfusionEdit

It is now known that the Irate Black Man changed his phone number. The phone number was hacked after having been revealed in a Duncan call, and later was revealed to be no longer in service; however, The Irate Black Man is known to have been called again since. This has lead to some confusion, because he changed his phone number, but makes no statement of wondering how the prank caller found his new phone number. It could be that the prank call was made before he changed his phone number and was uploaded later. It could also be that he never changed his phone number in the first place, although this seems unlikely. Whether or not he was found again, he has yet to make another appearance in a new call.

The Irate Black Man has not been prank called since at least early-to-mid 2010 and it's possible that he actually changed his phone number or moved out of his residence; the former is more likely the case because in a video clip posted in November 2011 by Americanlackey, who uploaded many of his prank calls on YouTube, it's revealed that his phone number has changed.

ControversiesEdit

Starting in early 2010, dozens of Irate Black Man calls were removed from YouTube, possibly due to accusations of racism. Most of these calls involved pictures of Ving Rhames portrayed as his character role "Marcellus Wallace" in the film Pulp Fiction. One call was restored by metalboss44, an Irate Black Man Rampage. Another user by the name of CrankCallingYoull, had Irate Black Man calls, but since closing his account, and said calls have yet to resurface. Also, another call, entitled Irate Black Man Compilation was removed by a user in the beginning of 2010, but was reuploaded that summer by another member of the community.

Actual appearanceEdit

Americanlackey has uploaded a video that depicts images of the Real Irate Black Man Unfortunately, this is not the real DeNardo Monroe but Denardo's brother, Joe, proven by his son. However, Americanlackey did provide a statement in one of his videos of how much it bothers him when people consider his videos as merely fake/false.

CartoonEdit

From the beginning of 2011, Irate Black Man has his own animated cartoon series, created by welfarecomics/IrateBlackManCrib or Blastard Studios. So far, one complete season of five episodes and four promos have been released. By October 2012, new episodes of the series had been slow in coming, most likely because the user had not received enough subscribers to warrant them being produced any quicker. The fifth episode (and season finale), a Halloween-themed offering, was realeased in three parts between October - November 2012. A sixth episode is said to be in progress.
